Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling isn't a slogan you scroll past. It's a set of practical habits that keep gambling as entertainment instead of letting it become a problem. The fundamentals: set a budget before you start and never exceed it, treat losses as the cost of entertainment, never gamble with money you need for bills or rent, and take breaks.

Most regulated casinos offer built-in responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly), loss limits, session time limits, reality checks (pop-ups that tell you how long you've been playing and how much you've spent), and self-exclusion options. Use them. Setting a deposit limit isn't a sign of weakness. It's the smartest thing you can do as a regular player.

Warning signs that gambling is becoming a problem: borrowing money to gamble, chasing losses to try to win back what you've lost, gambling longer than planned, neglecting responsibilities, lying about how much you're spending, and feeling anxious or irritable when you're not playing. If you recognise any of these, talk to someone. GambleAware, GamCare, and the National Gambling Helpline are free and confidential.
