Max Bet Rule

The max bet rule puts a ceiling on how much you can stake per spin or per hand while bonus money is active. The typical limit is $5 or the currency equivalent. Bet higher than that, even by accident, and the casino reserves the right to void any winnings earned with the bonus and confiscate the bonus itself.

This rule exists to prevent players from betting big on a single spin to try to beat the wagering requirement quickly. Without a cap, you could take a $200 bonus, bet $200 on a single roulette spin, and potentially walk away with $400 in real money having wagered almost nothing. The max bet rule forces you to grind through the requirement at a pace that gives the house edge time to work.

Some casinos are strict about enforcement, flagging any violation automatically. Others are more lenient with first-time accidental breaches. Regardless, don't test it. If you're playing with bonus funds, set your bet size to $5 or below and forget about it.
