Slot Mechanics
Hold and Win
Hold and Win is a bonus mechanic where special coin or money symbols lock in place while the remaining reels respin. Every new coin that lands extends the feature and resets the spin counter. When three spins pass without a fresh symbol, the round ends and your total cash value pays out, sometimes with a jackpot tier triggered by screen fills.
Playson popularized the format; Pragmatic Play pushed it further with the Money Train style variants, and the mechanic now shows up across dozens of studios under different names. Volatility runs hot. Most rounds fizzle with a handful of small coins. A few fill the screen and deliver the 1,000x plus hits the format advertises on its banner.
