Flat Betting

Flat betting is the strategy of placing the same wager on every round, regardless of whether you won or lost the previous one. Bet $5 every spin. No increases after losses. No decreases after wins. Just the same amount, repeatedly, until you decide to stop.

It's boring and that's the point. Flat betting minimises your variance compared to progressive systems like the Martingale. Your bankroll chart will show a gentle downward slope at the rate of the house edge, with random fluctuations around it. No dramatic crashes from doubling into a losing streak. No sudden spikes from catching a hot run with increasing bets.

For recreational players, flat betting is the mathematically safest approach. It doesn't overcome the house edge because nothing can. But it stretches your bankroll as far as possible and makes your results more predictable. If you brought $200 to play and you're flat betting $2 per spin, you know roughly how many rounds you can expect to play before the money runs out.
