The acquisition brought financial stability but raised questions about creative independence. The release pace slowed somewhat post-acquisition, though new titles continue to reach the market on a monthly basis.

Yggdrasil holds licenses from the MGA, UKGC, and Gibraltar, and their games are certified for multiple European markets. The studio's strongest period in terms of critical reception was roughly 2016 to 2020, when their visual quality and innovative mechanics regularly earned industry award nominations. Whether the MGM ownership era produces a creative resurgence or a gradual wind-down into catalogue maintenance remains to be seen.
